Small Group Ministry at Higher Living Christian Church is an exciting way to make a big church seem small.
Pastor Landers’ vision for Congregational Small Group Ministry (CSGM) began in 2010. In fall 2010 Higher Living invited the congregation to consider being small group leaders. Approximately 100 came forward and embarked on two years of training to prepare for small group leadership. We graduated our first class of small group leaders in Jan. 2012.
How will you know if Small Group Ministry is for you? Glad you asked! We developed a model called, “First Steps” to assist you in the transition to small group ministry. “First Steps” will allow you to explore the tenets and commitment needed to participate in small group ministry. In “First Steps” you will become a part of a biblical community and meet new friends in Christ. “First Steps” is an intimate Christian environment where you share with other Christians like yourself, learn about prayer, learn to prioritize the important things in the Christian walk and experience the close intimate setting of a small congregation inside of a big church like HLCC.
After nine weeks of experiencing the benefits and the intimacy of small group life through Higher Living, members will be able to know if small group life is the right option for them.
“First Steps” will be offered in the fall session of C.L.A.S.S. curriculum starting in October 2012. HLCC will launch the congregational phase of our Small Group Ministry
in February 2013.
